Trade show hacks from the frontlines: Navigate through the trade show jungle!
Every trade show has its unique charm and its own challenges – be it routes to the venue, specifics of the trade show organizers, or unexpected costs. But fear not, we're sharing our insider tips to ensure your trade show appearance goes smoothly!
🚗 Cologne Trade Show: If the Cologne trade show has its own event running simultaneously with yours, expect additional entrance fees. These can range between 25 and 40 Euros. Think that's little? Think again! If you forget something and have to drive back and forth, these costs can quickly add up. So, stay alert!
❄️ Nuremberg Trade Show: Ceiling load in Nuremberg is a hot topic! Make sure your suspensions aren't too heavy and get informed about the permissible loads and potential suspension points. In some exhibit hall zones, suspensions are even prohibited, or you might need creative solutions to achieve desired positions. This can drive up the costs due to additional suspension points and helper trusses.
Water supply also requires some tricks here: Every booth needs water, be it for coffee, the counter, or the dishwasher! But in Nuremberg's exhibit halls, it often means: creativity needed. Only limited water supply shafts are available. If your booth is far from a water connection, you have two options: Invest in a raised floor or skip the water supply. While a camping canister might help, it's not the most convenient solution and can be time-consuming. So our tip: Inquire about water connections when booking your booth.
🕰 Time Management in Nuremberg: Nuremberg has introduced a slot system, meaning there are fixed time slots for setup and breakdown. Team coordination is crucial! This also applies to the trade show locations in Frankfurt and Düsseldorf.
🌍 General Trade Show Tips:
- Waste disposal and empties: Some trade shows are very strict. Be sure to inform yourself in advance!
- Booth cleaning: If you book this through the trade show organizer, there are usually fixed times.
- Fire safety: Wood or the more sustainable paper are dominant materials for trade show booths. But beware: There are strict rules for fire safety! Without a certificate and clearance by a fire safety expert, you risk having your booth cordoned off.
- Additional Certificates: Especially trade show organizers from the UK and USA often require extra documents like "Health and Safety" and "Risk Assessment".
So, be well prepared and don't let these little pitfalls throw you off track. Of course, we're always here to help you out!
