WATERKOTTE

“With graceful architecture and green eye-catchers like real moss, we create impressive scale – and spaces that invite people to stay.”

Projectmanagement: Alexander Frohnert, Managing Director

In 1972, Klemens Oskar Waterkotte founded WATERKOTTE GmbH, headquartered in Herne. Years earlier, the entrepreneur had already heated his own home using a self-developed geothermal heat pump. This pioneering achievement laid the foundation for the company’s current philosophy, which focuses on innovation, sustainability, and quality.

Since 2020, WATERKOTTE has been part of the Swedish NIBE Group, a global leader in heat pump manufacturing. In 2024, WATERKOTTE was honored with the TOP 100 seal for its innovative strength – an award recognizing particularly innovative medium-sized companies in Germany.

At the ISH trade fair in Frankfurt, WATERKOTTE demonstrated that it belongs among the big players like Viessmann, Grohe, and others – the standout booth was a true highlight in Hall 12.

Together with its Swedish subsidiary CTC, WATERKOTTE presented itself at an open-concept island stand covering over 280 m² – a joint booth designed to connect rather than divide. One of the visual highlights was the central counter: two designs that merged harmoniously in the middle, both in color and material.

At the rear, an impressive four-meter-high wall with a 98” TV and a full-surface real moss feature created strong visual impact. Sustainability was not only displayed but made tangible – also evident in the backlit banners featuring cohesive visual imagery. WATERKOTTE showcased a modern concrete look – clean and industrial – while CTC used light wood tones to create a warm, inviting atmosphere.

The industrial-style meeting areas, with pendant lights and hanging plants, invited visitors to linger. The uniform furniture concept, paired with different color schemes and finishes, created a subtle yet distinct visual separation – thoughtfully implemented throughout the entire booth.

A true highlight: the digital LED video rotunda, designed for long-distance visibility with alternating video sequences. Moss-clad side walls framed the stand and reinforced the sustainable design concept. Floor graphics provided orientation and information, while colored edges in the corporate colors of WATERKOTTE and CTC wrapped around the booth and appeared again in the illuminated display platforms – perfectly staged to draw attention to the products.

The booth reflected the pioneering spirit with which Klemens Oskar Waterkotte once laid the foundation – bold, future-oriented, and driven by a clear ambition: to make innovation tangible.
